☐ Notify your employer of your new address for payroll and tax records

☐ File a change of address with USPS at usps.com/move
☐ Notify your bank, insurance, and subscription services of your new address
☐ Transfer or cancel utilities at your old address; set up at your new address
☐ Request school records transfer if moving with children
☐ Order packing supplies — boxes, tape, bubble wrap, labels

2–3 WEEKS OUT

☐ Begin packing non-essentials — seasonal items, books, décor
☐ Label every box with contents and destination room
→ Color-coded tape by room saves time on moving day.
☐ Confirm your moving truck or movers — get written confirmation
☐ Arrange for help from friends or family on moving day
☐ Transfer prescriptions to a pharmacy near your new home

1 WEEK OUT

☐ Pack an essentials box — chargers, toiletries, change of clothes, important docs
☐ Defrost and clean your refrigerator and freezer
☐ Disassemble large furniture and bag all hardware
→ Tape the bag directly to the furniture piece so nothing gets lost.
☐ Confirm access to your storage unit — gate code, hours, and directions

MOVING DAY

☐ Do a final walk-through of every room, closet, cabinet, and outdoor area
☐ Take photos of your empty old home for rental deposit records
☐ Hand over keys and confirm final utility readings

AFTER THE MOVE

☐ Update your driver's license and vehicle registration with your new address
→ Pennsylvania law requires this within 15 days of moving.
☐ Register to vote at your new Harrisburg address at vote.pa.gov
☐ Check that all mail is forwarding correctly
